Extractions

When extraction is needed?

Extracting any tooth is only ever offered as a last resort. An extraction may need to happen when a tooth is so deeply broken or decayed that it is no longer able to be restored, or when the tooth has become loose due to the gums and jaw bone no longer serving support. When a tooth is extracted the crown and entire root must be removed to prevent further infection. Quite often it is recommended that the extracted tooth be replaced to prevent movement from the surrounding teeth and to reduce bone loss to a little as possible.
